- The value of the Watauga High School property is being negatively impacted, and taxpayers will be asked to make up the difference when the property is sold.
- The Town of Boone is losing out on hundreds of thousands of dollars in property and sales tax revenue that is going to other counties.
- If a super-store comes to the area, it will be built outside of the city limits of Boone, creating additional traffic and urban sprawl.
